Gideon: I am Daisy's Dad. She was your 200th dog. Your Mom took a good picture of her and you. I thought you might like to read Daisy's story. She was the smallest dog in a litter found in a plastic storage tote on a street in Mason City, Iowa. It was very cold that night around Thanksgiving 4 years ago, near zero degrees. The finder of the storage tote with a sign on it that said "free puppies" was a very considerate person and took the 7 puppies to the local Humane Society. They saved all 7 puppies and their story and pictures made the news in the upper Midwest newspapers and TV stations. My wife and I saw the story on the front page of the Courier and on KWWL TV7 news. I looked up the puppies' story on the Northeast Iowa Humane Society website to see how they were doing. We had just lost our beloved dog Lizzy to cancer and I thought a new puppy might help us to heal our sad hearts from our loss. Each dog was listed separately on the website and I liked the way Daisy looked best. I filled out an application to adopt her online and waited to hear from the Humane Society. They called in a few days and said they had many applications for the 7 puppies because of all the news stories. Then I was told they wanted us to adopt Daisy; were very happy to bring her home from Mason City before Christmas. She has been a great family dog, she loves everyone in our family and they love her. She is very smart and was easy to train and she loves to play ball and go on walks. I was impressed you wanted to meet her, and I hope you stick with your website project for many years to come. Good Luck to you!
WOW! That was a awesome story. Glad you rescued Daisy. It would have been so sad and cold for her when she was a puppy to be in that box.
Thank you for being my 200th dog and thank you for the awesome picture.
Congratulations to you on your hard work & enthusiasm Gideon! 🎈 🎆 🎉
Piper, Cheyenne & Daisy look like they're all very happy to have a new pal. 😃
An extra big thank you to Mr. Hunter for sharing the heartwarming story of how beautiful Daisy found her furever home!. Who doesn't love a happy ending? 🐶
Don't forget to enjoy some of that snow for me please. ☃️
I'm sorry CJ, but the snow has melted a lot. I was not able to build a snow man because there was not a lot of snow. :( But I just got three dogs so it is up two two hundred and three.
I loved the story about Daisy. It had a very happy ending, but a very sad beginning. :( I really hope you and Oreo have a good day. :)
